Client Introduction

My client is an early stage start up in the payment cloud space. They are creating an application platform in Ruby that will allow web and mobile developers to write applications for credit cards and other types of payments. Their API attaches itself to the payment network in a secure fashion on one side, and on the other it presents itself as a platform for developers to create payment apps via Web-standard APIs. Backed by Accel Partners (Facebook, Dropbox and Spotify) and Greylock Capital (Pandora, Facebook, LinkedIn and AirBnB), they received $10 million dollars in VC funding earlier this year. This is an opportunity to work in a small (less than 20) fun environment with people having come from companies like Netscape, Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft. People that have helped create some of the technologies behind SSL, JavaScript, RSS, Gmail, and AdWords.

Job Description

We're tackling very complex security, technology, operational and product problems. We're developing systems in Ruby that are designed to be scalable, reliable, and secure. You must be smart and able to pick up new technologies, and we would like you to have the potential and desire to grow into a technology leadership role. Passion and initiative are more important to us than conformity. We are looking for people of all seniority level's to build out the technologies that will enable our API to become dominant in the market.

Job Responsibilities

You will be developing systems in Ruby that are designed to be scalable, reliable, and secure. You will be taking on complex security, technology, operational and product problems, You are responsible for being a hands on contributor in a fast paced environment.

Required Experience

* Strong grounding in core computer science concepts
* Experience developing complex web applications or platforms
* Self-starter with a strong academic record and/or work experience
* Object Oriented Programming Experience.
* Experience with Ruby not necessary, but must be willing to learn Ruby.

Required Education

* BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent
